Gustav E. Witt, 94, of Long Island, NY passed away Monday, May 1, 2006 at the Elizabeth House after an extended illness. He was born in Minneola, Long Island, October 04, 1911. He was a 1st Generation American. His parents, Frederick and Amelia Litka Witt immigrated from Poland through Ellis Island to America in the 1880's. After 30 years of service with Grumman Aerospace Industries he moved to the Hendersonville Area July of 1973. He was a member of the Kedron Masonic Lodge #387, the Apple Valley Model Railroad Club, the Hilltop Fly Tyers Club and had a special interest in old clocks. He is survived by many good friends who will miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held 4 pm Thursday, May 04, 2006 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Robert Geiger officiating. A visitation will be held Wednesday night from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service in the chapel.
