Earline Clayton Whitaker, 78, of Hendersonville died Monday February 20, 2006 at Pardee Care Center. She was a native of Henderson County and lived here most of her life spending the last eight years in Morganton, NC. She was the daughter of the late Arnold and Mary Ruth Hudson Clayton and was preceded in death by her husband Grady Wilson Whitaker and a son David Whitaker. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Morganton and the Dorcas Sunday School Class. She is survived by a son, Don G. Whitaker of Hendersonville. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Thursday February 23, 2006 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Bland, Dr. Lawrence Rhodes and Rev. Jim Page officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 pm prior to services in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care at 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
