John Dixon Turner, 67, of Asheville, NC passed away at home on October 17, 2007. He was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Mary Turner of Hendersonville, NC. He was a US Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Laurena Helms Turner; two daughters, Cindy and William Williams of Marshall, NC and Liz and Gary Hamlin of Black Mountain, NC; two brothers, Victor Spruill of Columbia, SC and Harold Spruill of Williamston, NC; four step-children, Elaine and Jerry Roe of Oneonta, NY, Stephen and Rebekah Helms of Henryetta, Oklahoma, Grace and Clinton Justus of Mill Spring, NC, Patricia and Chris Seymour of Hendersonville; five grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, October 20, 2007 at Ridgeview Missionary Independent Baptist Church, 117 Magsulder Road, Alexander, NC 28701. Interment will be held at a later date at the Western Carolina State Veteran's Cemetery in Black Mountain. Jackson Funeral Service and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
