Diane Laughter Tinsley, a Henderson County native, died after a brief illness in her home at 9:00 PM on July 6, 2007. Diane was the daughter of the late Earl Laughter and Emmie Laughter of Hendersonville. She was a graduate of Edneyville High School in the class of 1968 and she later attended the University of South Alabama where she graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1981. She was a lifetime member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. Diane was a schoolteacher who was loved by her students and had a deep passion for history, especially Henderson County history and the history of WWII. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, David Tinsley; her only child, Darrin Tinsley; Dawn Tinsley, her daughter-in-law; Jordan and Jenna Tinsley, her two grandchildren; her sister, Janet Edney; and nephews Aaron Edney, Bryan Edney, Scott Tinsley, and Michael Tinsley. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, July 9th at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service. The Reverend Harold McKinnish will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior in the chapel. She will be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial Park afterwards.
