Carolyn Ann Hembree Stanley "Memy", 78, of Horseshoe, NC died peacefully in her home Friday, January 25, 2008. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Pearl Hembree and was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Lewis Stanley who died in 1982. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Wanda Kidd and Betty Jean Copeland and a brother, Paul Hembree Jr. She had lived in Henderson County since 1973. She is survived by a daughter, Wanda Stanley Lanning of Hendersonville; two brothers, Bill Sistrunk and wife Mary Elizabeth of Lake City, Florida and Larry Hembree and wife Nancy of Coral Gables, Florida; two granddaughters, Christina "Christie" Dresskell Freelan and husband Brian of Weaverville and Melissa "Missy" Lanning Johnson and husband Adam of Horseshoe; six great grandchildren, Mason, Xoë, Kimber, Dylan, Sean and Tyler and a nephew, Leslie Forrest Coletrain. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Rev. Mark Hunnicutt officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Hendersonville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel and at other times will be at her home.
