Ralph Eugene Rogers, 83, of Hendersonville, NC died Monday December 26, 2005 at Pardee Hospital. He was born September 04, 1922 in Haywood County, NC the son of the late Herman Jennings Rogers SR. and Mattie Pless Rogers, resided in Hendersonville since 1949 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hendersonville. He was the owner and operator of Haywood Body Works for 26 years, he was awarded "Boss of The Year" by the La Belle Pomme Chapter of the American Business Owners Association. He served in the US Navy in WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific and was a former commander of the Henderson County Memorial VFW Post #7467. He was a member of the Elks Lodge #1616, served as a trustee and was instrumental in the construction of the new Elks Lodge building. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Margaret Emily Chapman Rogers; three daughters, Joyce Rogers Murray and husband Darrell of West Columbia, SC, Sandra Rogers Tilden and husband Bryan of Pittsboro, NC and Cheryl Rogers Johnson and husband Mark of Poplarville, MS; one son, John Daryl Rogers and wife Revonda of Hendersonville; ten grandchildren, Darren Murray and wife Lisa, Brian Murray and wife Brandie, Melanie Murray, Leah Tilden, Hilary Tilden, Nash Courville, Emily Johnson, Scarlett Evans, Rebecca Rogers and Chris Rogers; four great-grandchildren, Chase, Hayden and Hannah Murray and Dowland Rogers and one sister, Mattie Burr Rogers Ward of Asheville, NC. A memorial service will be held 3:30 pm Friday December 30, 2005 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Sybil Parks officiating. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hedrick-Rhodes V.F.W. Post # 5206, Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post # 77 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 14.
