Alvis Brooks "Jay" Petty Jr., 53, of Hendersonville, NC went to be with the Lord Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the Elizabeth House. He grew up in Sanford, NC, lived in Brevard before moving to Hendersonville. He was the son of the late Alvis Brooks Petty Sr. and Barbara Behrendt Petty. He attended Brevard College, worked at Dupont and loved Harleys "Hogs!". He is survived by a son, Matthew, a daughter, Elizabeth, a grandson, Eli, two sisters, Nancy Noyes of Massachusetts and Barbara Brooks of Oregon and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 3 pm Tuesday, May 23, 2006 at the Elizabeth House in the chapel. Donations may be made to the Elizabeth House at: 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. Jackson Funeral Service and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements.
