Edward Harvey Osteen, 77, of Hendersonville, NC went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 23, 2006 at his home. He was the son of the late Harvey H. Osteen and Virginia Johnson Osteen and was preceded in death by two brothers, Arland M. Osteen and William H. Osteen. He retired from Berkeley Mills and was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Emily Morgan Osteen; three brothers, Wheeler Lenior "Febe" Osteen of Mills River, Troy Monroe Osteen and Darrell Eugene Osteen both of Zirconia; two sisters, Lois Osteen Blythe and Doris Osteen Cox both of Zirconia and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Sunday, August 27, 2006 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. John Saunders, Rev. Howard Cabe and Rev. Bill Tinsley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home of Bill and Lois Blythe on Mt. Olivet Road. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
