Lois Hudgins Orr, 80, of Hendersonville passed away Friday, February 9, 2007 at the Elizabeth House. She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, the daughter of the late James and Floy Jackson Hudgins, and she was preceded in death by her husband Elmo S. Orr who died in 1983 and a sister, Doris Seymour. She graduated from Edneyville High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville. She retired from the Postal Service in Mountain Home where she worked alongside her husband. She is survived by two sisters, Sarah Uhorchak and spouse, Wally, of Hendersonville and Phyllis Allen of Arden, her children: Gail Orr McKenzie and spouse, Steve, of Birmingham, Alabama; Eric Orr and spouse, Janet, of Blowing Rock, NC, and Kathy Orr McSwain and spouse, Tom, of Sanford, NC; nine grandchildren: Kate, Margaret and Christine McKenzie, Josh, Jake and Sarah Orr, and Rebekah, Kelly and Abby McSwain. A graveside service will be held Sunday 1pm at Shepherd Memorial Park with Dr. Gordon Elliott officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Mrs. Orr's residence.
