Agnes Dunlap Stepp Newman, 91, of Hendersonville went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 13, 2006. She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, the daughter of the late Hall and Ella Whitaker Dunlap and was preceded in death by her husbands, Riley Stepp Jr. and Leonard Coatsworth Newman, two sisters, Emma Anderson and Kate Marlowe and a brother, James Dunlap. She was a member of the Woodmen of The World and Ebenezer Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, James C. Stepp of Horse Shoe; a daughter, Patricia Ann Wilde of Lawrenceville, GA.; five grandchildren, Deborah S. Hyatt, Eddie Stepp, Lee Stepp, Chris Wilde and Michael Wilde; six great grandchildren; one great-great granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 12 pm Monday, April 17, 2006 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Patterson and Rev. Harold McKinnish officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 12 pm at the church and at other times will be at the home of Jim Stepp. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund at: 2557 Chimney Rock Road; Hendersonville, N.C. 28792 Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
