Randall "Randy" Marvin Melton, 38, of Fletcher, NC passed away unexpectedly at his home Friday, August 03, 2007. He was the owner of I-TECH Services Inc.. He was the son of Marvin Melton of Edneyville (who preceded him in death in 1972) and Carol Fonte of Fletcher. He is survived by his wife Jennifer Davis Melton, their sons, Kye Wayne Murphy,16, Ashton Marvin Melton,12 and Johnathan Collier Melton,3, all of the home; his mother Carol Fonte; his brother, Scott Melton and wife Paige Price Melton, their daughter, Hadley all of Fletcher; and also maternal grandmother Lois Beeney of Hendersonville; his father-in-law, Collier Davis, mother-in-law, Amy Davis, brother-in-law, Cody Davis all of Fletcher; maternal grandmother-in-law, Clara Radcliff of Asheville and many aunts, uncles and cousins. The loves of his life were his wife and three sons. His hobbies were Civil War History and yearly family trips to Disney World. His passion was his coaching baseball at Fletcher Rec Park where he was Co-President of the League. Funeral services will be held at Fletcher First Baptist Church in Fletcher, NC, where he and his family are members, Wednesday, August 08, 2007 at 3:00 pm. Visitation will follow at the church and graveside services afterward will be at Hoopers Creek Baptist Church's new cemetery on Hoopers Creek Road. Services will be officiated by Rev. Roy Waldrop, pastor of Fletcher First Baptist Church and Rev. Bryan Melton, pastor of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church of Edneyville. Ralph Bagwell, Co-President with Randy at Fletcher Rec Park Youth baseball and softball will also speak. Pallbearers will be Dr. Neil Barnwell, Cody Davis, Tim Melton, Colby Lanning, Jeremiah Lanning and Josh Lanning. Donations may be sent to a trust fund for his sons to any Henderson or Buncombe County First Citizens Bank or mail to Jennifer Melton. Randy was greatly loved and will be missed not only by his family and friends but also by the hundreds of boys and girls he has coached over the years at Fletcher. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
