William Ray "Buck" McCraw, 83, of Hendersonville, NC died Friday February 10, 2006 at his home.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County the son of the late William McKinley McCraw and Connie Cantrell and was preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Pruitt, two sisters, Mae Young and Mary Sue Funt and a grandson, John Lee McCraw.
He was a US Army Veteran of World War II, retired from Cranston Print Works after thirty years of service and was a member and Deacon of Kings Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Callie Jones McCraw, two sons, Alvin McCraw and wife Linda and Johnny McCraw and wife Cheryl all of Edneyville; three daughters, Linda McCraw of Etowah, Ann Henderson and husband Leo of Saucier, Mississippi and Carol Cole and husband Michael of Greer, SC; four brothers, Paul, J. B., Plato and Leo McCraw all of Hendersonville; one sister, Pearl Day of Hendersonville; a son-in-law, Barry Pruitt; twelve grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sunday February 12, 2006 at Kings Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Phillip Capell and Rev. Harold McKinnish officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Saturday night from 6 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
