Troy O'Dell McCrary, 85, of Hendersonville, NC passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at his home. He was the son of the late Charles Alexander McCrary and Clara Shipman McCrary. Was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Rhonda Lockaby McCrary, three brothers Eural McCrary, Carmel McCrary and Lewis McCrary. He is survived by his wife Christine Hill McCrary, two sons Mike McCrary and wife Teresa of Hendersonville, Tim McCrary of Hendersonville, one daughter Rita McCrary Scott and husband Bob of Port St. Lucie, Fl, 4 grandchildren Kim Lyons, Kathy McCrary, Aaron Laughter and Rob Scott, one great-great grandchild Brandon Scott, two brothers Fred McCrary of Etowah and Dan McCrary of Crab Creek and several neices and nephews. He was in Army-Air Force, T/SGT and an ex-POW of Romania. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion and DAV and a member of East Flat Rock Baptist Church. A funeral will be held Sunday, November 19, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at East Flat Rock First Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Tarrant and Rev. Harold McKinnish officiating. Burial will follow at Crab Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Hedrick-Rhodes V.F.W. Post # 5206, Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post # 77 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 14. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends from 1 - 2:30 at the church and at other times will be at the home of Christine Hill McCrary on Brooklyn Ave. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
