Virgil Marshall, 76, of Zirconia died Thursday, June 28, 2007 after a period of declining health. He was a native and life long resident of Henderson County the son of the late Lewis and Minnie Jones Marshall and was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline Bazemore. He was a member of the East Flat Rock First Baptist Church, retired from GE after 30 years of service and loved to fish. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Frances Seay Marshall, two sons, Rick Marshall and wife Carolyn of Edneyville and Randy Marshall and wife Jill of Dana, two step-sons, Philip Spicer and wife Glenda of Hendersonville and Michael Spicer and wife Phyllis of Campobello, SC; a step-daughter, Deborah Williamson of Candler, one sister, Grace Sherman of Hendersonville, twelve grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Monday, July 2, 2007 at the East Flat Rock First Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Tarrant and Harold McKinnish officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church and at other times will be at the home of Randy Marshall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Flat Rock First Baptist Church Building Fund at: PO Box 305, East Flat Rock, NC 28726. Jackson Funeral Service will announce the arrangements.
