Betty Jean Hoots Lamb, 68, of Hendersonville, NC passed away suddenly, Thursday, March 01, 2007 at her home. She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County, the daughter of the late Reginald Hoots and Lillian Enloe Hoots. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Jerry Lamb; a son, Alan J. Lamb and wife Katie of Hendersonville; two daughters, Teresa L. Ownbey and husband Dickie of Hendersonville and Diane L. Blackwell and husband Charles R. of Rochester, Minnesota; a brother, Vance Hoots and wife Jewel of Hendersonville; three sisters, Margaret McCall of Hendersonville, Clara Johnson and husband Jody of Homestead, Florida and Doris Justus and husband David of Hendersonville; six grandchildren, Jared R. Ownbey and wife Lauren, Rachel Ownbey, Autumn and Jacob Lamb, Katherine and Joseph Blackwell and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday, March 06, 2007 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Tiller, Rev. Harold McKinnish and Dickie Ownbey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Betty's nephews serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends Monday night from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the church and at other times will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Building Fund,2557 Chimney Rock Road, Hendersonville, N.C. 28792. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
