Jewel Hubley, formerly of Lexington, MA, died September 10, 2006 at Tryon Estates, Columbus, N.C. She was born in Newton, MA, May 20, 1918, the daughter of the late R. Harlin and Ethel Brown, and the sister of Myron and the late Willard, Lawrence and Wallace Brown. Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Nate, and their four children and spouses - Paul and Lois Hubley, Framingham, MA; Miriam and Fred Hayes, Fairview, NC; Martha and Bruce Coonradt, Annapolis, MD; Daniel and Kathryn Hubley, Gilford, NH. Also surviving are twelve grandchildren, nine of whom are married, and sixteen great grandchildren. Jewel was a devoted and loving wife and a caring, concerned, thoughtful and prayerful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family. With a few others, she was involved in the founding of Grace Chapel, Lexington, MA which today ministers to more than 3000 people. For many years she conducted Bible clubs for children in her home. She enjoyed leading Bible studies for women, and served on many different committees at Grace Chapel. In 1976, she was recognized as the Massachusetts Merit Mother of the year. During her final days Jewel was generously showered with loving concern, attention, and compassion from her family doctor along with the Tryon Estates Administrator, Chaplain, Nursing Administration, and the efficient nursing and culinary staffs. Great appreciation is also given to Hospice and her own family. This attention eased Jewel's transfer from her earthly home to her Heavenly home. The family is grateful for the loving concern and attention from all those involved in this transfer process. Jewel was a woman of deep faith and now is enjoying the home in Heaven which her Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ, said that He would go ahead to prepare a place for her. All loved ones look forward to being with her some day. A Memorial Service will be held at Tryon Estates on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. Rev. Ralph Kuether, Chaplain, will officiate. Jackson Funeral Service of Hendersonville, NC is in charge of arrangements. Memorial gifts may be sent to Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
