James "Big Jim" Hamill, 73, of East Flat Rock, NC died peacefully in his sleep early in the morning, Thursday, November 29, 2007. He was a member of The Kingsmen Quartet in which he was instrumental with the bands success. He also sang with The Oak Ridge Quartet, The Rebels and the Weatherford's. He loved discovering new talent a showcasing young talent. Golf was his favorite sport and he also loved watching Baseball and Football. He had lived in Henderson County for the past 32 years and is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Janet Hamill; a son, James W. Hamill of East Flat Rock and a daughter, Jennifer Hamill of Asheville. A Celebration of Jim's life will be held 2:00 pm Monday, December 03, 2007 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service.
