Elsieanna "Nan" McClure Haderup died May 8, 2006 at age 91. She was born in Brooklyn and also lived in Mt. Kisco and White Plains, New York. She attended Syracuse University with the aim of being a professional Girl Scout––––her career and main interest for 50 years. In 1954 she married Glen Haderup, a forester and surveyor. They moved from Northville to Hendersonville in 1979 but Glen died two years later. She was active at the Hendersonville First United Methodist Church until her health failed in about 1994. She was always outgoing and optimistic, even while bed ridden for eleven years. She is still an ongoing inspiration. Memorials may be given to her church at 204 Sixth Ave. West, Hendersonville, NC, 28739. A memorial service will be held May 21 at 3:00 pm in the church chapel.
