Marie Evans Godwin passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Pardee Hospital. Marie was a native of Henderson County. She was born April 13, 1927 to Estelle Camby and John Albert Evans. Marie is also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Godwin. Marie worked at Farmer Federation for over 30 years and then retired from Harnett's Electric to care for her mother and her aunt, Jane Camby. Marie was a loving, caring person and a pillar of the community. She shall be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes and wit. Marie will be missed by numerous cousins and many, many friends. A memorial service will be held Sunday, March 11, 2007 at 2:30 PM at Bethany Bible Church with Pastor Greg Stiekes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Bible Church, 207 Chadwick Avenue, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
