Emerson James Enloe, 84, of Flat Rock, NC passed away Thursday, December 28, 2006 at the Elizabeth House after a long illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County the son of the late John Brisco Enloe and Ada Mae Nix Enloe and was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence and seven sisters, Jessie Justice, Molle Case, Annie Pittillo, Virginia Kerr, Lillian Justice and Alice Taylor. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II serving as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division in Normandy during the Battle of The Bulge. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Hedrick-Rhodes V.F.W. Post # 5206, Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post # 77 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 14 and was past president of the Sanford Chapter of the DAV in Sanford, Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Hazel Lee Jones Enloe; four sons, Emerson Randall Enloe of Cedar Mountain, NC, John Michael Enloe of East Point, Florida, Richard Thomas Dalton of Edneyville and Lee Porter Dalton of Flat Rock; six daughters, Patricia K. Enloe-Fosler of Jacksonville, Florida, Jewel Marie Scott of Liberty, TN, Beverly Jean Sain of Greenville, SC, Wanda Elaine Carpenter of Titusville, Florida, Sandra Lynn Stepp of Fruitland and Karen Denise Dalton of Edneyville; one sister, Ruth Justice of Fletcher; twenty grandchildren, thirty one great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday, January 2, 2007 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Military Graveside Rites conducted by the Hedrick-Rhodes V.F.W. Post # 5206, Hubert M. Smith American Legion Post # 77 and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter # 14. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Fellowship Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted and may be delivered Monday from 9:00 - 12:00 am or Tuesday from 8:30 to 12 pm at the funeral home or donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church in care of Jimmy Justice, 181 Trio Lane, Hendersonville, NC 28792.
