Geraldine D. Crowder, 75, entered the presence of our Lord and Savior on 01/30/06 at the Elizabeth House in Flat Rock. She was born in Chattanooga, TN, raised in western N.C., and lived in the Virginia tidewater area with her family for several years before moving to Hendersonville in the mid 60's. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Crowder. Survivors include two sons, Jack Crowder and his wife Deborah of Hendersonville, and David Crowder and his wife Teresa of Catawba, VA. She is also survived by a brother Boyd McBrayer of Gastonia, a sister Eileen Gantt of Panama City, Florida, and several very special cousins, nieces, and nephews. The family wishes to extend a genuine appreciation to the staff at Elizabeth House for their extreme kindness, gentleness and compassion shown during the past 2 weeks while caring for Gerry. A memorial service officiated by Dr. Gordon Elliott will be held in the chapel of First Baptist Church, Hendersonville, at 2:00 PM on Thursday, Feb 2. Burial will take place at Refuge Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House, 581 South Allen Road, Flat Rock NC 28731. Jackson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
