Mary Ellen Corthell, 63, of Mills River, NC passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2007. She was born in Paragould, Arkansas and was the daughter of the late Carroll Thomas May and Mathel Stella May and was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nelson Corthell. She is survived by three sons, Allan Carroll Corthell and Robert Jefferson Corthell both of Mills River and Nelson Webster Corthell of Hendersonville; one daughter, Tabatha Ellen Corthell of Mills River; two brothers, Tommy May and Jodie May both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four grandchildren and two nephews. Services will be private. The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at the home of Allan C. Corthell of+ Mills River, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Fallen Law Enforcement Officers Foundation or to the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
