Clyde Talmadge Cannon, 78, of Mountain Home, NC went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 06, 2008.
He was Sargent First Class in the US Army from 1951 - 1953. He was a faithful member and deacon of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He was also a lifetime member of the Gideon's International. He was co-owner of Cannon Brother's Trucking and Cannon Brother's Construction.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Connie and Grace Cannon and a brother, Thomas Cannon.
He was an amazing husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. His life's goal was to live a life totally devoted to God so that his family would follow in his footsteps.
He is survived by his precious wife of 54 years, Beulah Lee Corn Cannon; his children, Barry and Norman Cannon, Audrey Cannon Pace, and Tonya Cannon Sloop all of Hendersonville; brothers, Billy, Kenneth, Larry and Jerry Cannon all of Hendersonville; sisters, Ruby Freeman, Connie Kuykendall, Patricia Holder, Gail Rogers, Martha Corn and Doris Connor all of Hendersonville, Jackie Halford of Graham, NC and Dean Holder of Six Mile, SC.
He is the proud grandpa of twenty grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his lifetime friends, R.B. Jones of Hendersonville and Odell Middleton of Washington State.
A celebration of life will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, January 10, 2008 at Ebenezer Baptist Church of Hendersonville. The Rev. Harold McKinnish and Dr. Johnny Tiller will officiate. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park with Military honors conducted by the Henderson County Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends Wednesday night from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Ebenezer Baptist Church.
