Bertie Halford Brown, a devoted Christian wife and mother was welcomed into the presence of the Lord on Sunday, March 26, 2006. She was the daughter
of the late Pose and Emma Halford. For 67 years Bertie fulfilled her marriage vows to the late Clyde Brown. She set forth a noble example of what it means to be a faithful wife and caring mother.
Bertie lived her life sowing seeds of unconditional love. She was possessed by the spirit of giving and serving just like her Lord and Savior whether it was a family member or a stranger, Bertie
searched for a way to share out of the abundance of her heart. She lived out the words of Jesus who said "Even the son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister and to give his life a
ransom for many." Surviving are five children; Kenneth Brown and his wife Virginia, of Hoopers Creek, Betty Jean Robinson of Hendersonville, Joann Williams and her husband, James E. of Fairview,
Jimmy Brown and his wife, Mildred of Mills River and David Earl Brown and his wife Faye of Columbia, SC. Also, Bertie had six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She has one sister, Azalee
Frisbee of Hendersonville and two brothers, Al Halford and his wife, Pauline of Asheville and Hubert Halford and his wife Jackie of Burlington. A funeral service will be held 2 pm Wednesday, March
29, 2006 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Marvin Mathis officiating. Burial will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to
services in the chapel.
