Joe Bailey Blythe, 82, of Hendersonville, NC went to be with the Lord Wednesday, January 03, 2006 at the Elizabeth House. He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County the son of the late Zirk Z. Blythe and Effie Holbert Blythe. He was a loving husband, father, brother, gifted musician and song writer, a member of Gethsemene Baptist Church and was a US Navy Veteran of WWII. He is survived by his loving wife, Venessie Thompson Blythe; four sons, Charles Gregory Blythe of Forsythe, GA, Timmy Lee Kellar of FT. Walton, Florida, LeRoy D. Kellar and Raymond Kellar both of Perry, Florida; two daughters, Marilyn Blythe of Boston, Mass and Debra Ann Riffe of Lakeland, Florida; one brother, Glenn E. Blythe of Interlachen, Florida; one sister, Thelma Louise Blythe of Hendersonville; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 2:30 pm Friday at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Eric Hardman and Rev. Jimmy Owens officiating. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to the service. After the service a dinner will be served at 4:00 pm at Gethsemene Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care; 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731.
