Shirley E. Ashworth 59, of Brevard passed away Thursday February 23, 2006 at Mission Memorial Hospital. A native and lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late James A. Ashworth and O'Dell Orr Ashworth, and was also preceded in death by a brother Robert Ashworth and two sisters Marilyn Morris and Joyce Ann Smith. A CNA she was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include one brother James Ashworth and his wife Joyce of Brevard, two sisters Dorothy Toole and her husband Bob of Brevard and Martha Sexton of Penrose; her aunt, Nell Ashworth of Brevard and a very special friend Ora Gillespie of Brevard. A memorial Service will be held 2 pm Saturday March 4, 2006 at Cherryfield Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Owen and Rev. Gene Gilliam officiating. Jackson Funeral Service and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
