Stanley Hall Staton, 83, of Flat Rock, NC passed away Monday, March 17, 2008 at Park Ridge Hospital. He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County the son of the late Robert Lee and Bertie Blythe Staton and was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Lynn Staton, a grandson, Jared Hall Staton, a brother, Eulas "Unk" Staton and two sisters, Christine Vealch and Evelyn Hiatt. He graduated in 1943 from Dana School, was a retired Apple Grower in Dana, co-owner of Staton Brothers Farm and member of Refuge Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sadie W. Staton, four sons, Stanley Staton and wife Nola, Richard Staton and wife Mindy and Robert Staton and wife Stephanie and Steve Staton all of Dana; one daughter, Susie Walker and husband Wesley of Hendersonville; six grandchildren, Toni Beckmann, Josh and Whitney Staton, Jessica and Ashley Staton, Charles and Jennifer Staton, Kelly Walker; two great-grandchildren, Lauren Staton and Drew Beckmann and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Refuge Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Melton and Rev. Dale Pace officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the church and at other times will be at the home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in remembrance of Hall Staton to Refuge Baptist Church, PO Box 36, Dana, NC 28724. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
