Myrtle "Tony" Pace, 71, of Zirconia, NC passed away Friday, February 29, 2008 after a short illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Searcy Merrell and was preceded in death by her husband, Laurice Elmo Pace. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and volunteered with the Henderson County Library, The Pardee Hospital Pink Ladies and the Council On Aging. She is survived by two sons, Laurice Pace of Zirconia and John Pace of Orlando, Florida; two daughters, Molly Pace of Zirconia and Charlotte Grainger and her husband Douglas of Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Mildred Spencer of Edneyville and Margaret Engle of Hendersonville; a granddaughter, Claudia Grainger, a niece Betty and a nephew, John. A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday, March 03, 2008 at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Blair Stewart and Rev. Don Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local church. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
