William David "Chicken Man" McGuinn, 70, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Elizabeth House. He was a native of Polk County and lived in Henderson County for most of his life. He was the son of the late Floyd McGuinn and Addie Lee Ruff McGuinn and was preceded in death by a sister, Lucille Mullinax. He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Frances McCrain McGuinn; three children, Mike McGuinn and Mitzi McGuinn Dudley and husband Richard all of Hendersonville; a daughter, Jennifer McGuinn Burgess and husband Mike of Charlotte, and a step-son, Jeff McCrain and wife Wendi of Hendersonville; a brother, Daniel McGuinn and wife Iris of Rutherfordton; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and his faithful companion "Freeway". A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. James Maybin officiating. Burial will follow in Refuge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at the funeral home and at other times will be at the home. Memorials may be made to Four Seasons Hospice and Palliative Care; 571 South Allen Road, Flat Rock, NC 28731. The family would like to express their thanks to all of his care givers, Pardee Hospital and the Elizabeth House.
