Irene W. Markham, 88, of Hendersonville, NC died Monday, May 12, 2008 after being struck by an automobile on Hwy 225 South. She had lived in Henderson County since 1992, was a member of Mud Creek Baptist Church where she attended bible school. She loved painting and was an accomplished artist. She was preceded in death by her son, David Wells. She is survived by two nephews, Wayne Rafter and Ben Fuller; three nieces, Pam Easley, Candace Phau and Pam Capman; a great niece, Amy Skaggs and two great nephews, Kenneth and Jonathan Easley. A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm Thursday, May 15, 2008 at the Chapel In The Pines of Jackson Funeral Service with Rev. Mark Hunnicutt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mud Creek Baptist Church, PETA or Feed The Children.
