Semirimas Clark Mabrey, 103, of East Flat Rock, NC passed away Tuesday, March 04, 2008 at the Elizabeth House which coincidently was built on the same land she grew up on. She was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County the daughter of the late Will T. Clark and Mary Staton Clark and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy E. Mabrey who died in 1969 a son, Randolph R. Mabrey, a sister Blanche Clark Hall and a brother Glover M. Clark. She graduated from Fruitland Institute and Cullowhee State Normal School. Her first teaching certificate was in 1924, she taught for 6 years at Tracy Grove School and also taught at Mtn. Page Community School. She is survived by her cousins, Vivian Hill, Barbara Garrison, Maurice Hill, Thomas Hill, Tony Hill, Carroll Clark, Eunice Skinner and Bill Pace and a special friend Charles Hodges . A graveside service will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 07, 2008 at Shepherd Memorial Park with. Rev. Tim Porter officiating. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
