John Gregory Kerr, 42, of Hendersonville, NC passed away unexpectedly Friday, May 02, 2008. He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County the son of Beatrice Jackson Kerr of Edneyville and the late John Boyd Kerr and was preceded in death by his grandparents, John Palmer and Zella L. Kerr and Kelly and Helen H. Jackson. He graduated from Edneyville High School, class of 1984 and was the owner of John Kerr Grading in Etowah, NC. He loved his family, enjoyed working with heavy equipment, appreciated his loyal employees, was a great father and will be dearly missed. Surviving in addition to his mother is his son, John Anthony Kerr and fiancé Carrie Kennedy of Edneyville; his fiancé Karen Orr and her sons Brandon and Brentley all of Hendersonville; two sisters, Suzanne K. Kirtley and husband Don of Hendersonville and Jennifer Kerr of Brevard; his aunts, Hoyte Jones and Evelyn Splawn both of Edneyville, Carol Ferguson of Columbia, SC and Stella Jackson of Hendersonville; his uncle, Roger Jackson of Edneyville; his nephew, Kelley Evans of Hendersonville, his nieces, Allison and Melanie Smith both of Brevard and many cousins and good friends. A funeral service will be held 12:00 Monday, May 05, 2008 at Mtn. Home Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Landreth and Rev. Craig Garren officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services in the church and at other times will be at his mother's house. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
