Celia A. Garren, 96, of Fruitland, died Monday, March 24th, 2008 in her home. She was a schoolteacher in Eastern and Western North Carolina for over fifty years, and also taught piano. Ms. Garren was the daughter of the late Preston and Mary Brevard Garren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joe B. Garren, and a sister, Sue Garren. She was a member of Fruitland Baptist Church. A graveside service will be held at Fruitland Cemetery at two P.M. on Thursday, March 27th, 2008, with the Rev. Dr. Michael Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Fruitland Baptist Church, 150 College Street, Hendersonville, NC 28792. Jackson Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
