Dorothy Jane Zenke Foerster 76, of Sapphire, NC went to be with the Lord Jesus on February 28, 2008. Mrs. Foerster formerly of Miami, FL was born July 10, 1931 in Wilkes Barre, PA; she was the daughter of Emil and Dorothy Zenke. After graduating in 1949 from Muhlenberg Township High School in Reading, PA she graduated from Albright College in Reading, PA in 1954. After moving to Coral Gables, FL in 1956 she served as the executive director for the Diary Council of Miami, FL from 1957 to 1961. She met and married Ronald Foerster. Jane was a stay at home mother for her children until 1977 she then taught elementary and secondary school art until 1995 at Westminster Christian School in Miami, FL. She was a loving and dedicated mother to her two children and homemaker of enormous skill. Her artwork graced the walls of her home and showed her passion for capturing the beauty of nature on canvas and many other mediums. The birth of her granddaughter Lily gave Jane another opportunity to show her talent and her love by painting a beautiful English garden on the wall of her granddaughter's bedroom. Jane was a devoted Christian and a faithful member of The Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami, FL and after relocating in 1995 to Holly Forest in Cashiers North Carolina she was a member of The Whiteside Presbyterian Church in Cashiers, NC. Jane was the past president of the Valley Garden Club in Cashiers, NC; she was on the Board of Directors of the Holly Forest Homeowners Association, a member of the Red Hat Society and the PEO service organization. Jane was greatly loved by her family and friends and the pain of her departure is relieved only by the knowledge that she is no longer suffering and rejoicing in heaven, in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Dorothy Zenke; and her brother Robert Zenke. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Ronald Foerster; her two grown children, daughter Barbara Foerster and son Stephen Foerster; and her granddaughter Lily Foerster. Memorial service will be planned for Jane at Whiteside Presbyterian Church in Cashiers, NC and at Old Cutler Presbyterian Church in Miami, FL.
